About
This 1970s bungalow is situated in the woods between Oosterbeek and Wolfheze. NEXIT developed a renovation concept that transforms this bungalow into an ambient and comfortable twenty-first-century dwelling. Set in the (for the Netherlands) unusual topography, the house presents itself to the street as a single-storey home, whereas to the rear the basement allows bath- and bedrooms to connect with the wooded garden. Roof, façades and interior have all been insulated and refinished (steel, timber, plaster and glass), which give the house a new-built look. The entire building shell, however, was maintained and reused as the basis of this design. The attic loft space was opened up and replaces the dingy low ceilings. New skylights and plate glass windows offer both daylight unhindered entrance to the interior and stunning views of the woods in all directions.
