About
A modern pavilion-like bungalow was designed by NEXIT at the tip of brown-field site, called Vera Eijbershof and on the edge of Bato’s Wijk Park. The generously cantilevered vegetation roof seems to float weightlessly over the glazed window frames along the southern and western elevations. The steel structure, wood-frame components and large window-frames which make up the lightweight home are all prefabricated. A brick wall along the eastern perimeter defines the entrance and ensures privacy for the clients. Generous sliding doors enhance the ‘inside-outside’ feeling which the ample south-west facing veranda affords the adjoining living spaces. The cantilevered veranda-roof incorporates PV panels which, together with the installed heat-pump, make the bungalow energy-neutral.
